Role of Dany currently in auditions

According to one poster over at the Westeros forums, the producers are currently in the process of auditioning for Daenerys. This poster states that a friend of a friend has been asked to audition for the role. Apparently she is a complete unknown with little or no professional acting experience. The poster also mentions that she is currently in college, so that tells us the age range they are looking at for the role is 18-22 years old. Staying true to what David & Dan said yesterday, she is from Ireland.

Winter Is Coming: Dany seems like a role that could use an unknown, a fresh face. Hopefully they can find someone that has the right look and the necessary acting ability. The audition process is probably going to be a long and grueling one for the producers as, I suspect, they will have to settle on a bunch of inexperienced and unknown actors for most of the children characters.

RockMelt is a social browser that integrates Facebook and Twitter, making them a part of your browser interface, not separate tabs.

Built on the open source Chromium project, RockMelt is unusual for a browser in that you have to log in to use it properly. It looks like Google Chrome with two slim sidebars. On the left is a Facebook bar with all your online friends, and on the right a notifications bar, that houses pop-ups for your Facebook wall, Twitter feed plus any RSS feeds you want. You cannot add email at the moment.

Clicking the Facebook or Twitter button opens a neat window for the appropriate feed. You can disconnect these window, and float them anywhere on your desktop. The same is true of chats on the left sidebar. Next to the address bar RockMelt has a Share button, allowing you to quickly post interesting links to Facebook or Twitter.

If youre a heavy Twitter and Facebook user, RockMelt will really suit you. Its fast, very well thought-out and the social integration is better than anything else available. It may be in Beta, but RockMelt looks and feels like a finished product already

Ri Hyang Ok aims for rare double double

Being part of a FIFA World Cup is something that everyone involved in football dreams of. Be it as a fan in the stadium, cheering on your team and enjoying the atmosphere, or even as a player, vying for the ultimate prize and representing your country. This dream came true for Ri Hyang Ok in a number of different ways. She played for her home country of Korea DPR at two FIFA Women�s World Cups, in 1999 and 2003 in the USA. She did not get her hands on any silverware, with her team bowing out after the group stages both times, but that was not the end of the World Cup adventure for Ri. Twelve years later, she was again part of a tournament, this time in Canada and in a completely different role. And she aims to be suiting up again with the whistle in hand during next years Womens World Cup in France.

"As a player I never made it through to the final. The group phase was as good as it got and then we were on the plane back home. But I really wanted to experience another World Cup, so I asked myself, how can I do that? �, the North Korean said in an interview with FIFA.com. And then inspiration came to her. "I experienced the 1999 and 2003 World Cups as a player, and I was surprised to see female referees. That was so exciting, since I�d usually only seen male referees. I watched them during the matches and thought to myself: I�d like to follow in their footsteps and be like them, so I became a FIFA referee." Ri was in charge of four matches in Canada, including the last 16 tie between Germany and Sweden and the third-place match, where England edged Germany 1-0. Ri has also found that the two activities have more in common than you might think. "My experiences as a player and as a referee are actually quite similar," she said. "Im in a big stadium, out on the pitch and all around me are players, referees, coaches, other officials and plenty of spectators. There are differences though of course. As a player, I needed to know all about the opposition, whereas as a referee, I need a knowledge of both teams. And although Im a former player, Im still constantly learning new things, out on the pitch or in the classroom. I�m learning wherever I go." One thing that has changed significantly is the game itself, which has become quicker, more athletic and more direct. And this is another reason why the 40-year-old loves the sport. "To be honest, football is something that I simply find wonderful. Being a player in the stadium was my whole world. I felt free-spirited and liberated, and it was a feeling that I wanted to keep hold of. As a referee, I can sense the excitement and the emotions of the players, and feel what the spectators are feeling. It�s really special".

So you have 1,000 emails, a 500,000 line file full of chats, 30,000 transactions from your cellphone bill, and credit card statements going back six years... What does it mean?

Structure Your Data

Just a thought for today... When compiling forensic data it is important to make it human readable. This isnt just to help those who arent tech savvy. It is to help consolidate and present information in a coherent manner so it is more readily comprehensible. Isnt that what were doing at the Betrayed Spouses Club when we look at digital data? Were not only finding information we didnt have (or didnt want to see), we are trying to comprehend it. We are trying to put some structure into a subject matter that had suddenly and unexpectedly jumped from our subconscious insecurities into the ever-present lugubrious spotlight of our daily lives. For me, personally, no matter how badly my wife and I were getting along I never thought it I would be a member of this club. It was so horribly unfathomable that I find myself wondering which way is up more days than not. My search for the truth is paired with my need to structure it. I need the facts and a structure with which I can begin to comprehend them. That is why I took some time to write this post.

Mis En Scene

An important part of understanding "what" is to not take it out of context. Nobody lives in a vacuum. External events can be a frame of reference that can help with comprehension. I identified several events which could impact the decisions that were made by my wayward spouse.

Its important here to remember that no one can make someone cheat... No matter what happens the wayward spouses decisions are their own. That said, the events which may have influenced those decisions cant be ignored. First, it can help you come to terms with what actually happened. Second, if you do try to reconcile, you will need to find and fix the vulnerabilities in your marriage, such as; poor stress coping skills, communication issues, lack of emotional support, etc.

Here are some of my events.

Holidays
My wifes birthdays
Big arguments over money
My spouses mental condition
A death in the family
My diagnosis with cancer
Loosing my job and health benefits

I plot these on the same structure along with milestones I found in my conversations with my spouse and my search for digital information. Here are a few.

Meet-ups with the other people
Calls, texts, chats, pic/video to the other people
Initiating a new relationship with another other person

The Timeline

A chronological structure can begin to help you fit the puzzle pieces together. There are a few options; calendar, timelines and Gantt Chart are what Ill cover here.

Calendar

To start, begin adding the data that youve collected which identify external events and events during the affair(s). I wouldnt recommend going to such detail as to record every text sent or received. You will need to stay at a high level of detail to make sure the calendar doesnt become cluttered and unreadable.

Timelines

Timelines offer an advantage over the calendar because they can manage the duration component of your data more effectively. The duration could be the time your spouse has associated with one other person or another or it could help identify times where your spouse was well-behaved and acted with the appropriate respect for your marital vows. The basic structure of a timeline is a big arrow signifying time moving from a discreet point in the past and moving forward. Single events are marked as bullets, or milestones, along the path. Events with a duration can be listed with a callout (bracket) that is large enough to cover the span of time in the duration. This makes a better visual representation than a basic calendar and provides quick reference to the concept of duration.

Gantt Chart

A Gantt Chart is a project planning tool from the IT world. Its supposed to let a project planner identify tasks and events which need to occur on the timeline of a project. Additionally, resources needed for the project, costs, materials, dependencies, and all other sorts of project information can be associated with the tasks. The project manager can use it to keep his eye on the dizzying amount of data that is needed to ensure the project gets completed to spec. Now, this isnt a PMP certification blog so thats as far as Im going to go in the proper use of the Gantt Chart. What it does well that suits our purposes is manage lots of information related to events, the duration of activities, and dependencies on external events.

I prefer the Gantt Chart to an ordinary timeline for a couple of reasons. First, you can add a lot of detail. A normal timeline would get fairly cluttered with a lot of detail is added. Second, you can roll-up activities into a parent task. This is really handy when you are working with a complex data set like figuring out WTF happened to your life to make it go to sh*t.

Thematic Analysis

This approach takes the events you have compiled and places them in relation to a key concept. A key concept may be "arguments" or "business trips" or "health/getting older" or whatever you and your spouse feel are major influences on the affair(s). You will need to spend some time to classify or label your events with the appropriate concepts. Once you are done, you can begin to see how these themes correlate to the behavior leading to affairs. For example, you find that your spouse is out late at the local meat market club on weekends (event) when they had a health scare (theme), birthday (theme), or a close friend passed (theme). You will be able to cut through the noise of too much data to see relationship between theme and event. If youre lucky, you just may be able to find a better understanding of their decisions and perhaps some hope by finding something you both can work on to strengthen your marriage.

It doesnt paint a pretty picture but it is a picture. With structure, I can see more clearly what events influenced her decisions. That gives me a better ability to understand what happened and how to work on the marriage to ensure it never does again.

Stylistic Superstitions

There are a couple of too-prevalent over-corrections often seen in published writing that especially bug me. "Lay" as the past tense of the transitive verb "lay" particularly makes my teeth grind. As in, "He picked up the book and lay it on the table," instead of the correct past tense "laid." Its as if the author thinks "laid" sounds too crude. Likewise, many people overuse "whom" because they seem to think "who" is incorrect everywhere except when clearly the subject of a main clause. The tricky kind of sentence that trips them up goes something like this:

Thats the man who I believe robbed the store.

Often someone will write "whom" instead, under the impression that its the object of "believe." In fact, the object of "believe" is the entire relative clause (of which "who" is the subject). A lucid illustration of this point that I read not long ago rearranges the sentence this way:

Thats the man who robbed the store, I believe.

By "superstitions," however, Im referring to a different phenomenon, usages people think are grammatically or stylistically wrong even though theyre perfectly innocuous. By now everybody probably knows that theres nothing evil about splitting infinitives or ending a sentence with a preposition. Those "rules" were invented in the eighteenth century by grammarians determined to make English conform to the structure of Latin.

We still hear stern admonitions, though, not to start a sentence with "and" or "but." As a pupil of the strictest old-fashioned English teachers imaginable, in the 1960s, I never heard of such a "rule." It seems to be a relatively recent invention with no rational basis. "And" and "but" are coordinating conjunctions, used to introduce independent clauses, so theres no reason to forbid them to introduce sentences. And if you want to find numerous examples of such usage, take a peek at the King James version of the Bible.

I once had an editor who insisted the possessive case couldnt apply to inanimate objects. Quite aside from the grammatical fact that the possessive ("genitive" in Latin) has other uses besides indicating literal possession, substituting an unnecessarily clunky "of the" phrase for apostrophe-S with all non-living nouns contradicts both normal conversational English and venerable precedents in formal writing. For example: The dawns early light. The twilights last gleaming. The churchs one foundation. New Years Eve. Numerous familiar phrases such as "the years best books" and "the worlds oldest person."

Another editor of my acquaintance had what I consider an irrational objection to "stand up" and "sit down." On the grounds that the "up" and "down" were redundant, she made me delete them everywhere. In many contexts, plain "stand" or "sit" sounds abrupt and/or stilted. When inviting someone to take a seat, we say, "Sit down," rather than barking "Sit" as if addressing a dog. Also, we often need the preposition to distinguish between verbs of position and verbs of action. "Stand up" and "stand there" mean different things. If you write, "She sat on the couch," do you mean she was already sitting there (using the simple past "sat" to avoid the past progressive "was sitting," another construction many people irrationally condemn, with the mistaken idea that its "passive") or that she was in the process of taking a seat?

Too much contemporary published writing, alas, is riddled with more than enough genuine errors, without muddying the waters of correct style by imposing groundless prohibitions on top of the established standards.

State Sanctioned Sexual Suppression Part I North Korea

When it comes to North Korea, there is no one that I trust more than Andrei Lankov. His unique experience of having lived for a time in North Korea when he attended the Kim Il-sung University and his erudite analyses of the North Korean government and society offer the rest of the world an insightful look into the North Korea that we seldom ever get to see.

However, his latest essay about sex in North Korea in The Three Wise Monkeysseemed somewhat like a fluff piece, a kind of analysis that anyone could have made with an educated guess. After having read Lankov�s essay, the sexual mores that exist in North Korea, as titillating as it may be, does not appear to bear much difference from other tyrannical nations; be it Saddam Husseins Iraq or Muammar Gaddafis Libya.

Unlike other animals that engage in sexual behavior solely for the purpose of producing offspring, people choose to have sex for another reason � pleasure. The things that people pronounce to like are the things that people perceive to be good. As such, what people are sexually attracted to are what people perceive to be good; and in people�s case, what is perceived to be good is the reflection of one�s own sense of values, one�s own self-esteem.

As such, because sex, one of the most personal and private acts that an individual chooses to take part in, is a conscious or subconscious expression of one�s own self-esteem and self-worth, it is, therefore, unsurprising that a tyrannical state that wishes to control every aspect of its subjects� lives would want to control sex as well. The tyrants themselves wish to be the source of people�s self-esteem. They cannot allow individuals to find their own self-esteem and later to express it through sex.

By extolling �family values� and indoctrinating the idea that sex is something that can be consummated only within a marriage, the North Korean government is trying to indoctrinate the idea that there exists such a thing as a pure Platonic love that is devoid of sexual desire; that sex is nothing more than a biological function, albeit a necessary one, that is needed to produce future revolutionaries and workers. In other words, as far as the North Korean government is concerned, sex is not a personal act between consenting adults who choose to consummate their love, but a state apparatus.

That early communism, while it was still primarily the fancies of nineteenth-century urban intellectuals, placed great importance on gender equality is no secret. However, communism was always the goal that those intellectuals sought. The vehicle that was used to reach that utopia was socialism. The very name of the first �communist� nation of the world was the Union of the Soviet SocialistRepublics.

Due to the overuse and misuse of the word �socialism,� socialism has come to mean different things to different people. Especially in the United States and in Europe, when people speak of �socialism,� what they usually mean is �welfarism.� They are not synonymous. Traditionally, socialism is defined as the social and economic doctrine that champions government ownership and control of all property and natural resources.

In other words, a socialist system operates on the premise that a person�s life and his work do not belong to him, but belong to society; that the only justification of his existence is his service to society. As such, society can dispose of him in any way it pleases for the sake of whatever is deemed to be the collective good. Even in a socialist system, however, somebody has to make those ultimate decisions. The very nature of socialism thus gives that individual or individuals who have the right to make those decisions ultimate political power, the power over life and death.

The news was announced by the promoter who organized the concert Rihanna in Houston, Texas. Before D-day, they reported that the Umbrella singers condition was not allowed to sing on stage.

"Unfortunately, due to illness, was unable to attend Rihanna concert tonight at the Toyota Center, Houston. Fans are asked to save the ticket to wait for further information," said the representative promoter Live Nation.

Houston concert was originally to be held on Monday (15/4) local time. But until now there has been no further information whether the concert is canceled or postponed another day.

Not the first time Chris Browns girlfriend disappoint fans. At the last world tour in 2011, he had several times absent by reason of illness.
